La Casa Margarita – Reservation Policies and Procedures
Payment Policy:
To confirm a reservation a 25% deposit is required at time of booking.
Balance Due:
The full balance is due (30) thirty days prior to arrival, with the exception of reservations held for the Christmas Holiday (12/20 to 1/7) and Easter Week (Semana Santa) . The full balance for Christmas/New Years reservations is due by September 1st. and for Easter week by January 15.
All payments are non-refundable after final payment due date. In lieu of our refund policy we do encourage you to consider purchasing travel insurance.
Rates/Fees:
Rates are based on a one week minimum stay. Stays less than the minimal requirement will be considered, but will be subject to an additional cleaning fee.
Cancellation Policy:
All cancelled reservations forfeit the reservation deposit regardless of cause. Refunds may apply only to those dates that we are able to rebook. No refunds are made for unused nights resulting from late arrival or early departures regardless of cause. Cancellations between 45 and 90 days will incur a 50% penalty, cancellations made within a 45 day window will forfeit the entire rental amount.
Travel Protection Insurance:
Lodging Insurance is not included in your nightly rate, however for your lodging protection insurance can be purchased from a number of carriers that we can recommend. Premiums usually cost between 4% and 7% of your trip cost, depending on length of stay. Please contact us for more information, or contact your insurance agent.
Check-In:
Check-in time is between 2pm and 8pm. Checkout anytime before 11:00am.
Late Check-Out:
Requests for late checkouts are subject to a minimum fee of $75, and/or up to a one day rate depending upon time of departure. Requests for late checkouts must be made 48 hours prior to departure and will be honored based on availability. As most guests will arrive and depart on a Saturday, late check-out may not always be available.
Maid Service:
Daily maid service is not included in the weekly rate, however services are available at an additional cost. Advance notice of 72 hours is required in order to confirm additional maid services. Dish detergent, hand dishwasher detergent, and laundry soap are provided. Starter supplies are provided which include hand soap, body soap, paper towels, trash liners and toilet paper. The replenishment of these products is the responsibility of the guest.
Extensive Cleaning Fee:
Casa Margarita is inspected prior to each guest arrival and again immediately upon departure. Should it require extensive cleaning following your departure additional charges will be applied to the credit card on file. La Casa Margarita is NON-SMOKING and NO PETS ALLOWED: Should you or your guest inadvertently smoke in the house additional cleaning charges will be applied. Professional air purification services are required to return the house to its original status. The cost for these charges are applied to the credit card on file and can reach $500.

Damage Clause:
NO SHOES ALLOWED! Please remove you shoes in the carport and enter the house barefoot – or bring socks/slipper socks if you prefer. Our teak floors are very sensitive to scuffing and wear from shoes, boots, sneakers, clogs or other footwear, and damage caused by footwear will be added to your account.
The house’s inventory is inspected and recorded prior to each guest arrival and again immediately following each guest departure. Charges will be applied to the credit card on file for the repair or replacement of any damaged items, or items that have been removed and not returned to the house. Absolutely NO SHOES are permitted beyond the carport. Shoes of any kind will damage the finish on our beautiful teak floors, and repair and refinishing charges will be applied if necessary.
Amenities
Amenities and furnishings in the house are the property of the owner. Casa Margarita DOES NOT come equipped with hair dryers, Beach Chairs, Snorkel/Beach equipment, or food condiments. Some exceptions do apply based on items left by previous guests.
Lost/Found:
The owner is not responsible for items lost or items left in the house at your departure. Any requests for articles left in the unit to be shipped to a guest are subject to the applicable postage fee and a handling fee of $25.
